ABOUT
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that involves removing excess labial tissue and reshaping the labia minora to achieve a more natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance of the female genitalia.
Due to the delicate nature of the labia minora, this procedure requires a high level of surgical skill. However, when performed with care, recovery is typically quick and scarring is minimal.
At Swan Clinic, we have performed over 8,000 cases, led by our female medical director, a board-certified plastic surgeon. We strive to provide meticulous, medically appropriate treatment while achieving natural and beautiful results.
All of our physicians are board-certified female plastic surgeons. We also collaborate with gynecologists and urologists to ensure functional and aesthetic satisfaction for our patients as they age.
Are you experiencing any of the following concerns with your labia minora?
These are common concerns shared by many women. While it can be challenging to gauge what’s normal, please don’t hesitate to consult with us about any of these issues. We’re here to help you address your concerns confidentially and professionally.
HOW TO
At Swan Clinic, we achieve a natural-looking result by using a V-shaped incision technique when suturing. This approach prevents the thickening at the sutured edges, ensuring a more aesthetically pleasing outcome.
At Swan Clinic, we perform labiaplasty by making a V-shaped excision at the edge of the labia minora and suturing the two sides together. This technique prevents thickening of the edges, resulting in a natural appearance as if the labia were always small.
Furthermore, we use absorbable sutures and employ an intracuticular suturing technique, which leaves no visible stitches on the surface. This method eliminates the risk of visible scarring that can occur when sutures dig into the skin.
In general, most clinics perform labiaplasty by making a straight cut at the edge of the labia minora. As a result, when suturing both sides together, the edges can become thick and unnatural-looking,which may result in an unattractive appearance.
Moreover, these clinics often use superficial sutures that can dig into the tissue. This may leave visible scars even after the stitches are removed. Consequently, while the overall size of the labia may be reduced, there’s a risk of an uneven or irregular final appearance.
Short Surgery Duration
Prolonged surgeries can increase the risk of bleeding, tissue edema, and infection, all of which are undesirable outcomes.
While the average duration for gynecological procedures is typically reported to be 60 to 90 minutes, our clinic stands out by typically completing the procedure within just 30 to 40 minutes. This efficiency is due to our extensive experience with a high volume of cases and precise surgical technique, which minimizes unnecessary tissue damage. As a result, we offer a minimally invasive procedure that reduces potential complications.
Significantly Reduced Bleeding
Patients who undergo surgery at our clinic experience postoperative bleeding for an average of 5 days. In contrast, bleeding typically persists for about two weeks after the procedure at other clinics, with some cases extending up to a month. Prolonged bleeding not only delays healing but also causes ongoing discomfort.
At our clinic, we minimize bleeding both during and after surgery. This approach allows our patients to undergo the procedure with minimal disruption to their daily lives. By minimizing bleeding, we help ensure a more comfortable recovery process and a quicker return to normal activities.
Minimized Pain and Swelling
Patients who undergo surgery at our clinic experience significantly less postoperative pain, and this has been reflected in our positive reviews. In many hospitals, it typically takes about a week for patients to be free from post-surgical pain, with some experiencing significant discomfort, especially during the first few days after surgery.
However, patients at our clinic report remarkably low pain levels. On a scale of 0 (no pain) to 10 (extreme pain), our patients rate their pain at an average of 1.8, even on the day of surgery and the day after, which are typically considered the most painful. Additionally, the average duration of pain medication use is only 2.7 days, indicating significantly less pain than at other clinics.
Unless particularly sensitive to pain, most patients can return to work the day after surgery. While swelling typically lasts about a month at other clinics, our patients report an average of just 5 days of noticeable swelling. This rapid recovery after surgery is one of the major benefits of our approach.
Exceptionally Low Rate of Revision Surgeries
Some patients seek revision surgery after labiaplasty due to dissatisfaction with the results. In some clinics, the revision rate can be as high as 30%. However, at Swan Clinic, since our opening, only 0.2% of our patients have undergone revision surgery. This means 99.8% of our patients, as of December 1, 2022, are satisfied with their results after just one procedure.
Surgery Possible During Menstruation
Most clinics refuse to perform gynecological plastic surgery during menstruation. This is because menstrual blood can mix with surgical bleeding, potentially masking excessive bleeding from the surgical site and delaying its detection.
However, at Swan Clinic, we can perform surgery even during menstruation. This is due to our track record of minimal bleeding and the fact that we have never experienced a case of excessive bleeding or hematoma. Our confidence in our techniques allows us to offer this option to our patients.
This flexibility is particularly beneficial for patients traveling from afar, including overseas. Even if you unexpectedly start your menstrual cycle upon arrival, we can proceed with your surgery as scheduled.
It’s worth noting that this approach is unique and showcases our clinic’s advanced techniques and safety record in labiaplasty procedures.
